VALLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS COLLECT 138,000+ POUNDS FOR ST. MARY’S

St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance would like to sincerely thank all the elementary and middle schools who conducted holiday food drive for the hungry of Arizona during the months of November and December.
More than 50 schools ...from districts all around the community participated, and the results were astounding.
With a few schools still awaiting pickups, St. Mary’s has already confirmed 138,683 pounds of non-perishable food, bottled water and diapers for the hungry and needy of Arizona.
That’s more than 138,000 meals that will be distributed in our Emergency Food and Emergency Boxes -- an incredible accomplishment from our young people who understand the importance of helping those less fortunate in their communities.
The Food Bank is truly humbled by the efforts of teachers, administrators and coordinators of these drives at each school who take it upon themselves to spearhead these time and space-consuming undertakings.
And to the students who took part in these drives – and the parents who shopped for a little extra for the Food Bank, or had their pantries inspected by little eyes and hands for suitable donations – we are overwhelmed by your efforts.
