St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance would like to thank the ASU4FOOD on-campus group and all the Sun Devil fans who helped to “Make Hunger Disappear” at the annual ASU Homecoming parade and carnival this past Saturday. Thousands of cans of soup were purchased by Sun Devil rooters from the six-foot tall letters that spelled out HUNGER … and it was great to see the word literally disappear as the day went along!
Our thanks to everyone involved in the day, the United Food Bank, Salvation Army and State Farm Insurance, who sponsors the annual Territorial Cup Food Fight between ASU and the University of Arizona. And to cap off the day, the Sun Devils routed Colorado in the annual Homecoming Game to move to 6-2 on the season.
Thousands of cans of soup donated. Thousands of dollars raises. Thousands of people fed. What a great to spend a Saturday. Our thanks to all!
