• Nearly 1 in 5 Arizonans lives in poverty. That is 21% of the population. This number is higher than the national average of 1 in every 6 Americans, equal to 15% of the population.
• 2 million Arizonans are considered working poor, living at or below the Federal Poverty Guideline. This is the majority of those served by the Food Bank’s EFB (Emergency Food Box) program.
• More than 574,000 low-income and children in Arizona participate in the National School Lunch Program, which provides thousands of free and reduced-price lunches.
