It's easy to think of others during the holiday season, but the greatest need sometimes comes after the holidays! The Phoenix Zoo will be kicking off a food drive to benefit St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance this Saturday, Januar...y 15th. All you need to do is bring in cans of food and receive $1 off admission for each can up to five per person!
1 can = $1 off one general daytime admission
2 cans = $2 off one general daytime admission
3 cans = $3 off one general daytime admission
4 cans = $4 off one general daytime admission
5 cans = $5 off one general daytime admission
More than five cans per person are also greatly appreciated! Thank you for your support of the Phoenix Zoo and St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance.
Cans of food must be donated at the Phoenix Zoo. A maximum $5 discount available, per person. Cannot be combined with other offers or discounts.
Not valid on advanced or online ticket purchases. Valid for daytime admission only. Valid January 15 through January 31, 2011.

ST. MARY’S FOOD BANK ALLIANCE HOLDS SECOND ANNUAL “SUPER CITRUS SATURDAY” ON JAN. 22
Event Expands to 3 Locations for Added Convenience; Donations Accepted From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. At All Locations
One person’s surplus is another’s necessity, and St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance is hoping that once again the Valley’s overflowing ...neighborhood citrus trees can be turned into a bountiful harvest for those in need this winter.
For those wishing willing to pick their own fruit for donation to the food bank St. Mary’s will hold its second annual “Super Citrus Saturday” on Saturday, Jan. 22. The program is expanding to three drop-off locations from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for residents in the North Central Phoenix, Arcadia and Westside areas to give homeowners a designated drop-off spot to make their tax-deductible produce donation to the Food Bank.

* North Phoenix Baptist Church (Central Avenue and Bethany Home Road)
* Shepherd of the Hills United Church of Christ (56th Street and Lafayette)
* St. Mary’s Food Bank, Surprise (13050 W. Elm Street in Surprise).

FRAC Reports “Food Hardship” Across U.S
Food Research and Action Center analysis indicates that in nearly every state, at least one in seven respondents reported in first half of 2010 that there were times during the prior twelve months that they did not have enough money to buy food that they needed for themselves or their family.City of Glendale RECOGNIZES Challenger Middle School SUPER FOOD DRIVE EFFORT!
One very dynamic special education teacher at Challenger Middle School, Ms. Ashleigh King rallied her classroom and entire school to raise more than 15,000 cans of food and other items for St. Mary’s Food Bank Hunger 101 Program!
Challenger Middle School of the Glendale Elementary School District is located in Glendale’s Yucca District and on behalf of the entire city, our thanks to Ms. King and the entire school for their contribution to the community! Their efforts will build THOUSANDS of Emergency Food Boxes this winter for recipients of St. Mary’s Food Bank. Thank you, Challenger Middle School!.
