Arizona ranks third nationally for 50- to 59-year-olds at risk of hunger, with roughly 12 percent of people in this age group experiencing what is known as food insecurity, according to a report released in August by AARP.

THE IDEA: Only through information and knowledge can we even begin to eliminate Poverty, Food Insecurity, and Hunger. Hunger 101 strives to increase public Awareness, Advocacy and Action of hunger and poverty in Arizona and America by: - Starting conversations about poverty and hunger. - Educating children and adults to the realities of hunger, poverty, and food insecurity. - Empowering people of all ages to take action to fight food insecurity, hunger, and poverty.
